Joe Bright - Director, Rider and Trainer
Having started riding at the age of four in riding schools, Joe soon found an easy connection with horses. As a child with some difficulties with hearing and speech, it was much nicer to go hacking through the countryside with his mum than to a noisy football game with his dad and brother. This hobby soon grew into a passion and Joe went through the pony club enjoying show jumping and eventing as his main disciplines.
A bit from Joe
"I feel the principles of dressage will help any horse and rider partnership, whether the focus is on pure dressage, eventing, jumping or simply to develop a better relationship with your horse. Having produced horses of my own from the start of my career, I am enthusiastic about using kind and empathetic methods to help other people achieve their goals.
Being originally from Kent, once I had completed my apprenticeship with Dane Rawlins, I then moved back closer to home becoming the yard manager and rider for a local dressage rider. For three years, I produced my own horse to compete at Advanced level as well as train young horses from Preliminary to Advanced. I was BYRDS B Squad National Champion in 2012 which really inspired me to continue to work on my own development, from 2015 I had regular training from Damian Hallam and Paul Fielder.
Having developed my own business since the age of 21 whilst producing horses up to Grand Prix level, I am still able to help people throughout Kent and at my base near Faversham.

Megan Glisson - A Kent Native, who began her equestrian journey at the age of six where she loaned ponies, participated in pony club and enjoyed shows. In 2022 she purchased her first horse who would be responsible for teaching her an enormous amount in a short space of time. Very sadly, her horse was suffering and after extensive vet investigations Meg had to make the hardest decision of all. Despite this heartache, Meg's resilience led her to join Joe's team, embarking on a journey on acquiring new skills, particularly in the realm of dressage.
Building a bond with Joe's former Grand Prix horse Wodan has become a cornerstone of her learning as she eagerly finds new buttons whilst working with him. Meg's passion and empathy for horses shines through all that she does at Bright Dressage.
"Celebrating the connection between rider and horse is where the true magic of horsemanship unfolds. Working for Joe is more than a job; it's a a journey of self development in horsemanship that I cherish everyday." Megan Glisson
